Forum Title: Paint options for steel buildings?
Hello all, There is a small plot near my house which I bought recently. My intention is to build a car garage there and also to use it as a store room. I do not want to spend too much on the construction. So I am looking for a cheap, yet durable option. That is when I heard about pre-engineered steel buildings. I heard that it is longer lasting, and saves time for construction as well. I would like to know if anyone has used such steel buildings for garages? And what about its maintenance. I also want to know what type of painting would be suitable for such buildings. Looking forward to your replies. Thank you so much.

While metal building panels can be coated in any color at the manufacturer, you can paint steel panels on-site as well. The owner may need to change the color for one reason or another, the paint may need refreshing, or damage needs to be repaired. There are quite a few benefits to painting a steel building. It will improve the durability of the steel to have an extra protective coating. It?s also a good way to go green. A light-colored roof can help reduce the heat island effect and lower energy costs by reflecting solar rays away from the building.
